Western Art Original Oil Paintings | "Buffalo Soldier" - 12" x 16" Oil on Linen This Original is in a private collection | Soon after the Civil War there was an influx of former slaves into the U.S. Army. They were used mostly in the west in the Indian Wars. It was the Indians that
gave them their name, since their hair, especially when long reminded them of the buffalo`s. I find the Buffalo Soldiers enjoyable to paint and will probably do more of this subject.
